The Spirit of Saint Patrick

“I fear nothing, since I look to the promise of heaven and have flung myself into the hands of the all-powerful God, who rules as Lord everywhere.”

-Saint Patrick

Tis the month for all things green! But did you know that Saint Patrick loved Jesus and died for His name on March 14th? He was an enslaved shepherd in a foreign land when he spent day and night in intimate conversation with his Savior; and the love and fear of God grew strong in him, and the Spirit of God became more and more active. God lead him to escape captivity and back to the arms of his mother and father, but God eventually called him back to the land of his captivity. Despite duress from his homeland, his family, and the foreign land, he obeyed, saying, “I am ready and willing to give up my own life, without hesitation, for His name.” He suffered severe persecution while sharing the gospel; but he persevered, even unto death, saying “I fear nothing, since I look to the promise of heaven and have flung myself into the hands of the all-powerful God, who rules as Lord everywhere.”
Saint Patrick knew intimacy with Christ; and even in chains, he was free.
